ISO6722-1 Motor-Driven Scrape Abrasion Test Apparatus for Testing Auto Cables
1. Introduction
The scrape abrasion test apparatus is designed to meet the test requirements of ISO6722-1 clause 5.12.4.2 and figure 7, DIN72551-5, QC/T-730, JASO D611-94 and VW60306 for testing the auto cables resistance to scrape abrasion.
The apparatus consisted a device to abrade the surface of the insulation of the test sample and a counter to record the numbers of cycles to failure. The needle abrades through the insulation and makes contact with the conductor, the apparatus will stop automatically. Scrape the sample at a certain speed until the sample cracks or breaks, and record the number of cycles to failure; or apply a certain vertical force to scrape the sample in a fixed cycles and then observe whether the sample has cracks or breakage.
